Our mission: the best possible care for you!

At Dana Center, we work with a professional team to give you, your partner & your baby the best care possible. For guidance during your pregnancy, you will come to one of our teams of 2 midwives each time. They would like to introduce themselves to you below.

We also have several therapists, coaches and other professionals in house who can guide you in different areas around your pregnancy, delivery, as well as the time after. Want to make an appointment? Then click on the therapist/coach for contact information or call the Dana Center front desk.

Midwives

Ellis van Renterghem-Praamstra, Midwife

Ellis is married and a mother of four. From 2003 to 2021, she worked as an obstetrician. In 2021 she decided to let go of the profession for a while and joined Dana as a practice assistant. The small scale at Dana and the holistic approach appealed to her so much that as of June 1, 2023, she picked up her old love – midwifery – again as a midwife at Dana.

Martine Boerma, Midwife and IPT Practitioner

She has been an obstetrician at heart since 1998. With heart and soul, knowledge, skill, loving touch and humor, she guides women in their process.

In addition to being an obstetrician, Martine also works as an IPT Practitioner at Dana Center.

Kapinga Mwamba, Midwife

Kapinga will be part of our midwifery team at least through the summer months. For 12 years she has been working as a (holistic) midwife, including as an independent caseload midwife in her own practice and closely involved as a teacher and board member of the training for natural maternity care. She loves singing immensely and is looking forward to working with other colleagues within our team and is looking forward to beautiful counseling sessions with Dana’s clients.

Obstetrician & Echoscopist

Daphne van der Putten – Midwife, IPT Educator & IPT Practitioner

Midwife at heart, committed, involved, loving, knowledgeable and powerful. For years she has guided women through the special process of pregnancy and birth. In addition to being a midwife, Daphne also works as an IPT trainer. She will primarily serve as backup for the regular midwifery team Ellis & Martine.

Marloes van Schagen – Echoscopist (BIG 19917749203)

Marloes is a warm and knowledgeable ultrasound technician (also a midwife) who takes you through an ultrasound examination of your baby in your belly with love and humor.

You can contact Marloes for all ultrasounds both medical and on your own request.

From her Forest cottage in the Veluwe, she comes to practice on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Read more

Practice support

Saskia Schipper, General Support Officer

Saskia has been involved in IPT training since 2019 and then became a practice support officer at Dana. Now she provides general support to management and everyone who works at Dana. She handles daily financial and personnel administration, does calendar management and much more. Among other things, she is the point of contact for rental of workshop and practice spaces in Calluna and replaces the practice support person during vacations and illness. Saskia works on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Ramona Jongerius, Practice Support Officer

Now that Ellis has returned to work as a midwife, Ramona will be supporting us with practice operations as of June 1, 2023. You can find her every weekday (except Wednesday) between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the reception area, where she gives everyone a warm welcome to Calluna, answers the phone, schedules appointments and so much more! Ramona can be reached by phone on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 10:00-13:00.

Daphne Hooiveld, IPT Practitioner

My name is Daphne. I teach IPT sessions at Dana’s on Wednesday afternoons in the odd-numbered weeks. Both men and women are welcome to join me. Through my years of experience as a holistic massage therapist and individual systemic coach, my hands have become skilled in attuned touch and helping with relaxation. I always look at a person and his/her request for help from the context.

Flo Joly de Lotbiniere, IPT Practitioner

Flo has extensive IPT experience and completed the training for women in early 2020. She continued training for men in 2022, but currently only offers sessions to women. As a certified (and former Dana) midwife, Flo can also work with women during pregnancy.

De allerbeste verloskundige zorg die je je kunt wensen! Ik gun dit ieder stel. Zowel de begeleiding tijdens de zwangerschap, als tijdens de bevalling en ook de nazorg was super persoonlijk en betrokken. Wij hadden best wat vervelende ervaringen achter de rug op dit gebied. Hierdoor was er veel angst voor wat er mis kon gaan in de zwangerschap, en tijdens de bevalling. Voor deze angst en onzekerheid was alle ruimte en begrip. Goede gesprekken, extra controles en mooie IPT sessies om in het vertrouwen te zakken. De angst was hiermee niet weg, maar er ontstond wel vertrouwen naast de angst. Uiteindelijk leidde dit tot een super mooie bevalling, met hulp van Daphne. Wij kijken beiden ontzettend warm en positief terug op het hele traject. Ik weet zeker dat ik niet zo'n mooie bevalling gehad had zonder de steun, hulp en het vertrouwen dat er was. Ook de partner wordt echt gezien en in zijn rol geholpen. Heel erg dankbaar, en mocht je twijfelen: DOEN!!

Mocht je twijfelen. DOEN! Zoals mijn partner ook vertelde tegen Daphne toen ze na de bevalling bij ons langs kwam 'de eigen bijdrage was het meer dan waard!' Het team is klein en we hebben tijdens de zwangerschap uitgebreid kennis gemaakt met alle 3 de verloskundige. Allemaal even warm en professioneel. Het was onze eerste zwangerschap en wenste een thuisbevalling. Helaas werd al snel duidelijk dat dit niet ging lukken i.v.m. hoge bloeddruk. Maar ondanks overname in het ziekenhuis mochten we bij Dana op consult blijven komen. Juist nu het medisch werd, was dit van grote meerwaarde. Want bij Dana werden we echt gezien en gehoord. We konden onze vragen stellen en angsten bespreken. We kregen meer uitleg over hoe een bevalling in het ziekenhuis zou gaan en dit gaf rust. Naast alle stressvolle en vervelende controles in het ziekenhuis, was het elke keer een feestje als we weer naar Dana mochten. We hadden hier vaak veel behoefte aan en gaf ons weer vertrouwen en rust als we naar huis gingen. Het kwam steeds zo uit dat we Elise spraken tijdens de consulten en hebben in korte tijd een hele fijne relatie opgebouwd. Het voelde zo vertrouwd. Als een moeder die je emotioneel steunt en dan ook nog eens met alle kennis en kunde die nodig is tijdens de zwangerschap en ook bevalling. Het was zo geruststellend dat we wisten dat een verloskundige van Dana ons bij zou staan tijdens onze ziekenhuis bevalling. Dit maakte te aanloop naar de bevalling toe een stuk meer draagbaar. De bevalling werd erg medisch en Elise was er bij. Het ziekenhuis heeft eigenlijk alle handelingen gedaan en Elise stond ons bij als Doula. En wat was dit fijn. Tijdens de piekmomenten die erg spannend werden, gaf zij ons uitleg over wat er ging gebeuren. En dit zorgde op het moment zelf en ook achteraf voor heel veel rust. Ik denk dat als we niet bij Dana in zorg waren wij een hele andere beleving zouden hebben van dezelfde ervaring. Ook na de bevalling kwamen de verloskundige van Dana 3x op bezoek thuis. Ze hebben altijd laten merken dat we voor alles en op welk tijdstip dan ook contact konden opnemen en stelde ons gerust of beantwoordde onze vragen. Ik zou me niet kunnen bedenken hoe het was gegaan als we niet bij Dana in zorg waren. Ik zou dit een ieder aanbevelen en gunnen.

I finally gave birth smoothly and welcomed a lovely baby. I am deeply grateful to Dana for her assistance. The prenatal care process with Dana was very comfortable and confidence-inspiring. The Dana team was highly professional and patient with us. Last year, my husband and I came to Dana for our first child, and we knew nothing. I was filled with doubts and worries. Fortunately, the midwives at Dana helped us schedule every check-up and conversation. Each prenatal check-up was meticulous and gentle, making it a very happy and pleasant experience every time. Conversations with the midwives were very helpful; we learned a lot about pregnancy, and our questions were answered very well. Since we were not fluent in Dutch, the midwives at Dana helped us overcome this language barrier. After I gave birth, the midwives continued to care for both me and my baby. Dana is not only professional but also makes us feel warm. This pregnancy journey has been wonderful, and I am very grateful to Dana.

Wij zijn door Dana begeleidt tijdens mijn zwangerschap van onze tweede dochter. Ook nadat de zwangerschap medisch werd en we naar het ziekenhuis moesten voor controles en de bevalling bleven de verloskundigen van Dana betrokken - deze begeleiding was heel erg waardevol. Het was fijn om de tijd te hebben om alles rustig te bespreken, om extra tekst en uitleg te ontvangen, en om ondersteuning te krijgen bij het maken van lastige keuzes. Daarnaast zijn de verloskundigen van Dana mee geweest naar een lastige afspraak in het ziekenhuis en voordat we naar de OK moesten voor de keizersnede - het is fijn om op die momenten een bekend gezicht aan je zijde te hebben die je goed kent en weet wat voor jou belangrijk is. Ik gun iedereen verloskundige zorg zoals Dana die biedt: met heel veel liefde en aandacht. De verloskundigen van Dana creeren een gevoel van ruimte en veiligheid, alles mag er zijn, en tegelijkertijd is het overduidelijk dat de verloskundigen grondige medische kennis en een bak aan ervaring hebben. Ik kan de zorg van Dana van harte aanraden!

Dankzij Dana heb ik de VBAC (vaginale bevalling na keizersnede) gehad die ik zo graag wilde! De rust als je het pand binnenkomt is meteen voelbaar. De tijd en aandacht die de verloskundigen voor ons hadden heeft ons echt verbaasd. Zo´n enorm verschil met een reguliere verloskundige. Ik was in principe ´medisch´ door mijn eerdere keizersnede en wist dat ik sowieso in het ziekenhuis ging bevallen. Maar door de professionele begeleiding van Dana heb ik binnen deze setting mijn eigen keuzes durven maken, met zo min mogelijke monitoring en in bad zoals ik wenste. De gesprekken met de verloskundigen Aster en Kristel hebben ons daar enorm in gesteund. Zonder ons een richting in te sturen, maar door met ons alle opties te verkennen. En vooral ons zelf te laten voelen, welke keuzes bij ons pasten. Dat alleen al was heel bekrachtigend. De IPT sessies waren ook zo helend t.o.v. het verwerken van mijn eerdere bevalling. Uiteindelijk duurde de bevalling heel lang en lagen de weeën stil na ruim 26 uur en werd ik de laatste uren toch overgenomen door het ziekenhuis, maar wat was ik blij dat Martine het laatste stukje (als doula) nog bij ons was. Ik zat er compleet doorheen en maar zij gaf me nog de power om door te gaan. Ook de manier van samenwerken met het ziekenhuis voelde heel fijn. Kortom, een VBAC waar ik nog steeds met trots op terugkijk. De verloskundigen van Dana zijn goud waard!

Wij zijn zo blij dat we voor Dana centrum Zeist hebben gekozen. We hebben de begeleiding en bijeenkomsten als deskundig, liefdevol, humoristisch, realistisch en plezierig ervaren. Ook de begeleiding tijdens de (thuis)bevalling is zo op maat. En dat de verloskundigen mee gaan naar het ziekenhuis (in ons geval eindigde de bevalling toch daar) en elkaar afwisselen en tot het einde erbij blijven is zo ondersteunend en geeft vertrouwen in het hele proces. Voor een volgend kindje zullen we absoluut weer voor de begeleiding van Dana centrum kiezen. Bekijk hun aanbod. Ze doen namelijk nog veel meer.
