Pelvic physical therapy at Dana center

Are you experiencing pelvic pain after childbirth? Every Tuesday afternoon, Petra Tuunter, pelvic physical therapist, is available at Dana. She can help you with the complaints listed below:

  • Pelvic pain during pregnancy or after childbirth
  • Loss of urine, flatulence or feces
  • A heavy feeling in the pelvic floor/drop symptoms
  • Diastasis
  • Having to urinate frequently/ having difficulty holding up when urged
  • Pain during intercourse due to high muscle tension in the pelvic floor
  • Obstipation
  • Pain in the pelvic floor and tailbone pain

Methodology

During the intake together we identify the symptoms and explore what the cause might be. Then we discuss the possibilities of therapy. This can include exercise, massage and lifestyle advice. When exercising we can use biofeedback.

A treatment begins with a three-quarter-hour intake; any follow-up treatments last about 25 minutes.

Cost of pelvic floor physiotherapy

Many supplemental insurance policies reimburse for these treatments as physical therapy; even from basic insurance for some complaints.
