Training Integral Pelvic Therapy for the male pelvis
This 6-day Integral Pelvic Therapy training for the male pelvis is a wonderful addition to your work as an IPT Practitioner. We focus specifically on the male pelvis and related complaints. You will not only learn to understand the unique physiology of the male body, but also how to work effectively to alleviate specific complaints in this area.
What will you learn during this Training IPT for the male pelvis?
- You will learn the anatomy, physiology, and bit of pathology related to the male pelvis.
- You will learn techniques to release tension and stress from the pelvis; this includes working specifically on the organs of the pelvis.
- You will learn to create a safe environment, for yourself and for your client.
- You learn to work “neutrally”; because of your neutral stance, the client is able to let all emotions and feelings come to the surface.
Why Integral Pelvic Therapy for men?
Pelvic therapy for men is still in its infancy. Yet a great many men walk with pelvic problems such as;
- Pain in the pelvic area
- Penis pain
- Pain on the scrotum
- Pain during intercourse
- Premature ejaculation
- Difficulty holding up urine
- Prostate problems
- Erectile dysfunction
- Trauma in the pelvis
- Feelings of guilt or shame, general discomfort
- No feeling/connection to the pelvis
Integral Pelvic Therapy for men: physical and mental support
Where men can now turn with the above complaints is limited. Pelvic floor physical therapy or a visit to a sex therapist or urologist unfortunately do not always provide relief. Integral Pelvic Therapy for men offers the combination of physical touch with mental and emotional support. In IPT there is a place where men can be received in all their vulnerability with all the emotions, insecurities, guilt and shame that can accompany these issues.
Pelvic therapy for sexual trauma
Unfortunately, men are also often victims of sexual violence; research shows that 1 in 5 men experience it in their lifetime. Sexual trauma, with all the resulting symptoms and feelings of shame and guilt in the victim is, if possible, even more taboo for men than for women. For women, this is already fairly “accepted by society” but for men it is an unexplored area.
